Soulja Boy challenged Bow Wow to a UFC battle via XBOX 360, while he was waiting for his assistants to get back with the video game, he decided to smoke some Kush live in front of his 2500 viewers. I have to say his team should of directed him better.

This was just WRONG, and a bad move in so many ways. When your fan base is predominately teens and pre-teens, you may not want to endorse bad habits live on air. There are some things your fans don’t need to see. If you are into recreational use of drugs and other things that can negatively influence the young youth you just shouldn’t do it live on camera.

Soulja Boy is very young himself and I guess a Snoop Dogg or Lil Wayne in the making. The difference between him and them are that his fans are still very young and impressionable. Artists know they have the power to influence hence why top notch companies pay them huge bucks to endorse their products. For some of them just to cop out with the “I’m not a role model, where are their parents” is sad and silly. They miss the big picture. Just as you accept millions upon millions from concerts, ringtone sales, movies and advertisements. That automatically puts you on hook for a certain level of responsibility to act appropriately in front of that base.

It also may be hurtful to him, does he think that execs at products marketed toward kids will come running to his door to give him cash after he has displayed such negative behavior. No company wants a part of the backlash they’d get. He may be screwin himself out of money. Well he is young, and you live and hopefully learn to have better judgement next time around or hopefully those parents who are on top of things will not allow their children to purchase Soulja Boy songs, ringtones, and whatever else he is pushing.
